Hunting and dueling navaja with the yataghan type blade. Manufactured in Chatellerault (France) in the late XIX century. On a par with stilettos it was a favorite weapon of the street gangs known as "apaches". This type of the knife was also known under it`s slang name - "surin" - from the gypsy word "churi" (knife). Sometimes it's called "Solognot" - by the french region Sologne. The handle butt is made in a shape of the tail of a rattlesnake with a rattle at the end.
