The Legendary Spanish "Flamenco" Knife
This is the very knife that gave its name to the renowned Spanish style of singing and dancing, "flamenco." In Spanish, "flamenco" translates as "Flemish." According to one theory, these knives were brought to Spain by soldiers of the Spanish Tercios returning home from the battlefields of the Eighty Years' War in Flanders. As this type of knife became popular among the Andalusian gitanos (gypsies), they too began to be referred to as "flamencos." Later, the name "flamenco" was adopted for the Andalusian singing style associated with these "flamencos."
This model differs slightly from the canonical historical design: it is smaller for more comfortable everyday carry, has a less rounded and flatter handle, and uses a different type of scale mounting. However, all other elements of the original prototype have been preserved.
