Spanish French custom handmade Navaja Bandolera

French-Spanish style navaja with a  butt shaped as a rattlesnake tail. This type of navaja was produced in the second half of the 19th century in Thiers (France) for the Spanish market. The design was developed by French marketers based on the taste and preferences of Spanish clients. It was this type of knife that Spaniards preferred. French navajas fit so seamlessly into the Spanish culture that today many in Spain consider them to be the traditional Spanish knife.

Very unusual blade locking method: so-called "cran force" spring. Actually it`s a half-back lock, and half a slipjoint. To close this knife, you need to apply physical force - to "break" the blade.
